Discovery+, the company’s subscription streaming service, is filling in some holes in its distribution lineup through a new agreement with LG.

The app is now available on LG smart TVs in the U.S. including the company’s lineup of OLED TVs and QNED MiniLED TVs dating back to 2018 models. Users can now access discovery+ on LG’s webOS platform by saying "discovery plus" into their LG Magic Remote.

Discovery+, which sells for $4.99 per month or $6.99 per month with no ads, is also available on Android and iOS devices, Android TV, Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Samsung and Xbox.

"We are thrilled to expand the availability of discovery+ and provide LG customers a direct and easy way to stream our much-loved brands, series and talent," said Gabriel Sauerhoff, senior vice president of digital distribution and commercial partnerships for Discovery, Inc., in a statement. "The announcement of discovery+ on LG Smart TVs builds upon our existing relationship with a valued partner, and we look forward to the continued growth of discovery+ and reaching more fans around the world."

The launch on LG TVs comes just one day after Discovery announced that Discovery+ will be available in Canada beginning October 18. The service will be priced at Can$4.99 per month, with an ad-free version available for Can$6.99 per month, and each account will include up to five user profiles and four concurrent streams.

Discovery Inc. is currently in the process of merging with WarnerMedia, which will be spun off from AT&T. In August, Discovery CEO David Zaslav said he was recently in Washington, D.C. and didn’t pick up on any potential headwinds for the deal that will bring together HBO Max and Discovery+ under one banner.

“There’s broad support for this transaction. We haven’t heard any pushback, we haven’t seen any public pushback,” he said. “Right now, it feels for us on every level like we’re seeing green lights. We’re not seeing any yellow or red lights.”

Discovery and AT&T expect the deal to close by mid-2022.

Can’t find it in the LG content store… my remote doesn’t have voice command.  Imagine launching a streaming service and not having an app for the 2nd largest TV manufacturer.  Lame.   The app on the firestick is insanely slow to browse and populate, takes over a min of buffering to get an episode.  Discovery plus is a massive failure to launch.  I will be cancelling my subscription after the Black Friday sale promo is up.

I can't find the Discover Plus app in the LG content store either.
I am based in the UK, the app should be available for smart LG tv with webOS 4.
My tv is an old LG LG UJ630V bought in 2018, but I've checked and the software version is 06.10.50

When searching "discovery+" or "discovery plus" in the LC content store, I have no results for apps

Can anyone help me? Is there a way to install it out of the LG content store?

For the past few years I have been using a 2nd generation Apple TV to watch YouTube videos on my LG Smart TV, however as of today Apple have disabled their YouTube app for this particular device.
I presumed I would be able to use a YouTube app on my TV to continue watching videos in this way, after all has anyone ever heard of a Smart TV without a YouTube app? Since most new TVs are smart TVs these days most people I know have one and they all have the capability to play YouTube videos, usually you don't even have to download the app as it is one of the ones that comes pre-installed.
However I cannot find a YouTube app in the LG content store. I've not really tried to install new apps on my TV since getting it so I don't know if I'm looking in the right place, or it is one of those things like with smartphones where there are multiple places you can go and download apps from.
Bizarrely though, despite there being no YouTube app, there is a YouTube kids app, so it's not like LG have never heard of YouTube or anything, they just don't seem to have realised that people other than kids watch videos on it.

Hello, Not sure if you can help, the user manual certainly CAN'T help!   When I first setup the monitor, It asked what the default mode will be, I selected PC, and default input HDMI1 I have it connected to a MAC Mini M4 with HDMI cable, every time the Mac Mini goes into sleep mode or I leave for a while, the Monitor Switches off,  cannot be woken up by the mac mini by hitting the keyboard or mouse as per normal monitor. I have to power ON the monitor with the remote and manually select HDMI1 to go back to using the Mac Mini I can't find the settings section to check the Default Power on or wake up Mode settings are, the manual does not provide this information. Very annoying!

Featuring Advanced Purification Technology and a Sleek Space-saving Design,
Company’s Latest PuriCare Solution Delivers Clean Air, Style and Convenience

SEOUL, Jan. 21, 2025 — LG Electronics (LG) is unveiling the LG PuriCare AeroBooster air care solution, an ideal choice for customers seeking to create a more comfortable and healthier indoor environment. The innovative new product provides powerful performance with cutting-edge air purification technology and features a slim, sophisticated design that balances effortless style with unparalleled convenience.
The LG PuriCare AeroBooster utilizes the advanced Aero Series V Filter to draw in pollutants from every direction, effectively reducing the presence of dust, odors, viruses and bacteria for a fresher, more hygienic home. With its Dual Airflow and Clean Booster features, the AeroBooster delivers wider, more efficient air circulation and helps to reduce large dust particles from the indoor space. Purified air is emitted from vents at the top and bottom of the device simultaneously, reaching a distance of up to five and a half meters to fill every corner of the room with clean, filtered air.
The AeroBooster also integrates LG’s proprietary UVnano technology to safeguard the hygiene of the device itself and to maintain the quality of airflow it produces. UVnano removes 99.99 percent of harmful bacteria from the fan’s surfaces,1 while a built-in Ionizer adds another layer of protection by neutralizing harmful airborne substances.2
Thanks to its compact design and modest footprint, the AeroBooster can fit easily in almost any space, providing users with clean air without making their environment feel cluttered or crowded. Along with an ultra-slim form factor, LG’s new PuriCare solution boasts an understated matte finish and a unique air outlet. The minimalist design of the AeroBooster is further enhanced by customizable mood lighting that lets users create the desired ambiance, and an LED display that provides intuitive control and contributes to the product’s sleek, modern look.
In addition, the AeroBooster offers intelligent energy-savings with the ultra-efficient AI+ Mode. Without compromising performance, AI+ reduces the device’s energy consumption by over 49 percent compared to Smart+ Mode, which serves as the default mode of operation.3 When set to Sleep Mode, the AeroBooster runs at an ultra-quiet 21 dBA to help ensure a calm, tranquil environment. Meanwhile, LG ThinQ compatibility allows users to remotely monitor and control the company’s new air purifier from any location.
“The AeroBooster combines advanced air purification technology and a stylish, convenient design to enhance everyday living,” said James Lee, president of the LG ES Company. “LG will continue to deliver innovative air care solutions that address the growing need for healthier indoor spaces.”
The LG PuriCare AeroBooster is launching this month in countries across Asia, including Vietnam, Thailand, Taiwan, Malaysia, Japan and Singapore, with availability in other markets to follow soon after.
