 LG-CES-2022-PCON_0-600x338.jpg

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 2, 2022 — At CES 2022, LG Electronics (LG) is presenting its vision for an enhanced lifestyle and a better future for all. Hosted by LG CEO William Cho, LG World Premiere will introduce the company’s diverse innovations for the new year and detailed its continuing efforts to create a more inclusive user experience and sustainable tomorrow. LG’s theme for CES 2022, The Better Life You Deserve, emphasizes LG’s ultimate goal to elevate all aspects of daily life though technological and design innovation. This vision is brought to life through three short films: A Better Life for You, A Better Life for All and A Better Life Tomorrow.

A Better Life for You: Creating Value for Every Lifestyle
LG’s concept of the upgradable appliance is the focus of the first short film, A Better Life for You. With enhanced abilities to learn and evolve to better meet the needs of users’ individual lifestyles, LG’s upgraded ThinQ platform empowers compatible products with even more features to deliver additional conveniences in 2022. A Better Life for You shows how advancements in LG’s entertainment solutions are delivering a more personalized, interactive experience to viewers enjoying content on larger screens at home.

Audiences will be introduced to LG StanbyME, a wireless private mobile wireless display that goes anywhere in the house to deliver the ultimate viewing experience of a traditional TV. Also making their worldwide debut, LG PuriCare™ AeroTower is an all-in-one home air care solution designed to deliver the benefits of an air purifier, fan and heater while the LG tiiun indoor gardening appliance offers a simple, clean and reliable way to grow healthy greens all year round.

A Better Life for All: More Sustainable, More Inclusive
LG’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact and making its business more sustainable is the focus of A Better Life for All. Energy saving innovations built into InstaView® refrigerator and its “knock twice to see inside” transparent door, the increased use of recycled materials in packaging materials of LG Soundbar and the reduction of plastic components in LG OLED TVs all point to LG’s commitment to finding solutions that are better for people and the planet. Beyond 2022, LG expects to introduce more than 600,000 tons of recycled plastic into its manufacturing processes and increase the recovery of electronic waste to eight million tons by 2030.

Inclusiveness is also key to LG’s growth as a brand and toward this goal, LG is committed to investing in Accessibility Advisory Councils across different markets. Councils are comprised of accessibility experts and those living with disabilities and play a critical role in advising LG as it develops products with more inclusive user experience in mind, such as voice commands and Braille labeling.

To encourage innovation in the areas of sustainability and inclusivity in 2022, LG is establishing the LIFE’S GOOD AWARD focusing on Innovation for Earth and Innovation for All to solicit ideas to minimize the impact of human activities on the environment and make LG products more accessible and user-friendly. Up to USD 1 million will be awarded to winning participants, more details to be announced in the year ahead.

A Better Life Tomorrow: Blueprint for the Future
The third and final short feature focuses on the future and LG’s role in turning the stuff of science fiction into reality, with the company’s AI-powered CLOi door-to-door delivery robot being readied to roll into service. Audiences are also treated to a behind the scenes look as LG’s virtual artist

rehearses for her upcoming music video.

Also getting the spotlight is LG OMNIPOD, a mobility concept solution that blurs the distinction between home and car. Expanding upon the automotive solutions presented in LG’s previous at CES 2020, LG OMNIPOD is an on-the-road extension of one’s personal living space. Designed to function as a home office, an entertainment center or even a lounge, LG OMNIPOD offers a look at how a busy individual might be able to get more done in a future where working remotely doesn’t mean having to work from home.

Located inside the main entrance of Central Hall at the Las Vegas Convention Center, LG’s on-site exhibit promises to offer both physical and online visitors an engaging and interactive experience through AR and VR technologies.

LG’s Home Entertainment showcase will be featured in LG Virtual Studio in three individual zones: LG OLED on Metaverse, Virtual Showroom and LG OLED Art. All three zones allow visitors to discover and experience the company’s latest products in compelling, interactive ways. LG’s new home appliances will be featured in the virtual exhibition halls aptly named LG Home, LG Home by Objet Collection and LG ThinQ. LG Home is a virtual living space where visitors can explore the company’s latest appliances including a new washer-dryer set, PuriCare AeroTower and LG tiiun. In LG Home by Objet Collection, visitors can curate their own space by choosing the wallpaper, flooring and other interior design elements to harmonize with the customizable appliances in LG’s premium lifestyle collection. LG ThinQ gives visitors a “tour” of all the features and functions of LG’s smart ecosystem all accessible through the upgraded LG ThinQ app.

Despite the fact that farmers across the world produce enough food to feed every global citizen, hundreds of millions – many of them children – still go to bed hungry every night. In fact, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations estimates that as much as 733 million people suffer from hunger due to various factors such as weather shocks, conflicts, economic downturns, inequality and pandemics.

To bring more attention to global hunger, malnutrition and food insecurity, the FAO assigned October 16 as World Food Day. Under this year’s theme, “Right to Foods for a better life and a better future,” the FAO created a video illustrating the production and sharing of food across different cultures while highlighting that access to a diverse range of safe, nutrient-rich foods should be a human right.

In its commitment to spreading awareness, LG showcased this video on its expansive New York Times Square and London Piccadilly Circus billboards as a part of the LG Hope Screen program. Earlier this year, the LG Hope Screens

SEOUL, Sep. 5, 2024 — LG Electronics (LG) is set to unveil its vision for future living at IFA 2024, showcasing a complete range of AI home solutions for every need and lifestyle under the theme of “Experience, Affectionate Intelligence (AI) Home.”
Central to LG’s Affectionate Intelligence Home is LG ThinQ ON, an advanced AI home hub designed to deliver comfort and convenience tailored to individual preferences. ThinQ ON seamlessly integrates with LG’s latest AI appliances, forming the core of the LG AI Home Solution. This system is driven by Affectionate Intelligence, LG’s empathetic and caring AI technology. As the AI Home Solution learns more about users’ routines, preferences and behaviors over time, it creates a personalized spatial experience, delivering unmatched customer value and bringing greater ease to everyday life.
The first thing visitors to the LG booth at IFA 2024 will encounter is the AI Home Gate, an immersive LED media wall that visually communicates how LG AI is deployed within the AI Home to elevate customer lifestyles.
Visitors will get to experience LG’s sophisticated generative AI technology through the ThinQ ON hub once they pass through the AI Home Gate. ThinQ ON understands natural language, allowing users to control a wide range of appliances, Internet of Things (IoT) devices, and services with conversational voice commands. LG’s AI hub facilitates a truly personalized AI home lifestyle, managing everything from lifestyle services to helping kids get a good night’s sleep.

The Second Youth Home exemplifies LG’s commitment to enhancing the lives of the elderly by easing household chores and enriching leisure activities. Powered by ThinQ ON, this space highlights how conversational voice-recognition and seamless coordination of home appliances – for example, automatically setting the dryer to “Activewear course” once the washing machine finishes a workload – simplify home management. The AI hub can also provide voice briefings to keep users informed of what’s going on, relieve stress by offering guidance for tasks such as booking a taxi, and estimate travel time to the selected destinations.

A Trusted Supplier of Vehicle Solutions, Company Earns
Security Certification for Its Transceiver Module for Volkswagen

SEOUL, Aug. 26, 2024 — LG Electronics’ (LG) Vehicle to Everything (V2X) solution for Volkswagen has received the world’s first Common Criteria (CC) certification for security stability in the V2X device category. The certification reinforces LG’s leading position in the global automotive components market and highlights its advanced capabilities in vehicle cybersecurity, an area that continues to grow in importance in the connected car era.
The recipient of the new CC certification, LG’s VW Transceiver Module, is a telematics component designed exclusively for Volkswagen’s internal combustion engine-specific MQB platform. An internationally recognized standard for IT product security, CC certification indicates that a device provides comprehensive protection against unauthorized access or interference. The module has also met the stringent security standards set by Spain’s National Cryptologic Centre (CCN), earning an Evaluation Assurance Level (EAL) 2+ rating.
V2X technology allows vehicles to communicate with systems, devices and technologies in the surrounding area, including other vehicles (V2V), traffic infrastructure (V2I) and, via smartphones, pedestrians (V2P). Without robust security, V2X devices and networks could be compromised by hackers, potentially leading to traffic congestion, accidents or data breaches. LG is proactive in addressing V2X security threats, ensuring that its advanced telematics components comply with Europe’s increasingly strict security regulations, thereby providing peace of mind to drivers and passengers.
LG is committed to meeting the highest standards for vehicle security, and will continue to provide competitive auto solutions that prioritize safety and reliability. After earning CC certification for its transceiver module for Volkswagen’s MQB platform, LG plans to achieve the same for its V2X solution intended for Volkswagen’s MEB electric vehicle platform within the year.
In addition to obtaining security certifications for its V2X solutions, LG is enhancing security across all areas of its automotive electronics business. In 2022, LG Vehicle component Solutions (VS) Company received the Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange (TISAX) certification and, last February, gained Cyber Security Management System (CSMS) certification from TÜV Rheinland.
“By earning CC certification for the security of our V2X solution for Volkswagen, we have effectively demonstrated our superior component technology and security capabilities, both of which are key elements for success in the future mobility sector,” said Eun Seok-hyun, president of LG Vehicle component Solutions Company. “LG will continue to solidify its position in the global automotive parts market, delivering innovative, secure solutions that ensure safer roads for all.”
