LG East Africa has been actively carrying out diverse social initiatives to help improve education, environment and health standards in the region over the last few years and has already made a lasting impact on thousands of locals. This year, LG East Africa partnered again with Habitat for Humanity (HFH) Kenya for its second CSR project to support more than 25,000 Kenyans in Laikipia County.

with HFH Senior Program Manager Nixon Otieno and Mbombo Primary School Headteacher Mwangi Thumbi looking on.

Early this January, LG in partnership with HFH Kenya launched several social initiatives valued at around USD 90,000 (KES 10.3 million) to benefit more than 3,000 primary and secondary school students and the 22,000 residents receiving supplies from the Olmoran and Maundu Meri Dispensaries every year. At least two dispensaries and seven schools within Mbombo and Rumuruti will see positive changes from these initiatives.

Many children and teachers at these schools have limited access to clean, safe water and must make regular trips to far-away dams. To make matters worse, school infrastructure is severely lacking with classrooms, which are mostly made from mud and old iron roof sheets, lacking doors, windows and proper sanitation.

To make life better for the children, LG aims to directly resolve the challenges facing these vibrant communities. The company is building new classrooms and toilet facilities and furnishing them with proper school desks, tables and equipment, with construction expected to be completed by June. Over 20 LG products including refrigerators, washers, water purifiers, air conditioners, TVs and microwaves have been donated so far.

Accessibility in technology transcends mere innovation; it is about making everyday life better for everyone. At CSUN AT 2025, LG participated as the first global home appliance company to showcase its universal approach to accessibility.

The “CSUN Assistive Technology Conference,” organized by the Center on Disabilities at California State University Northridge, is recognized as the world’s largest event focused on assistive technology. Major global tech companies, including Google, Amazon, Apple and Microsoft, participate annually to introduce their new accessibility technologies and gain valuable insights.

As the pioneering global home appliance company to exhibit at the CSUN conference, LG unveiled accessibility innovations designed to enable a “Better Life for All.” At the 40th annual CSUN conference in March, LG showcased smart home innovations, AI technologies and accessory devices aimed at helping consumers with disabilities and senior citizens use products more conveniently.

For the U.S. consumer market, LG demonstrated various solutions that enhance user experiences through attachable accessories and software updates for home appliances and consumer electronics.

The LG Comfort Kit, introduced in North America for the first time this year, was developed in response to user concerns. LG created several accessories to make appliances easier to operate, including easy handles for people with limited strength to open the laundry detergent drawer and washer and dryer doors, and an easy-to-use dial for washing machines. The company continues to expand the Comfort Kit lineup by listening to feedback from a variety of consumers, including those with mobility impairments, visual impairments, as well as children and seniors.

Another highlight of the exhibition was a newly-developed commercial kiosk featuring height- adjustable capabilities and tactile keypads. This kiosk allows wheelchair users to easily adjust the screen height to their eye level. A new tactile keypad accessory designed to enhance accessibility for visually impaired consumers also was introduced at the conference.

Complementing its technology demonstrations in the booth, LG hosted a half-day workshop addressing topics such as AI smart homes, universal design including comfort kits, and accessible kiosks. Discussions included new assistive technologies and ways to alleviate customer pain points to create more convenient environments. Workshop participants included accessibility stakeholders from the Shepherd Center, the University of Maryland, UC Berkeley, the American Council of the Blind and the National Center for Accessible Media, who all shared their expertise and insights on improving accessibility in products.

According to LG Electronics ESG Strategy Head Justin Hong, LG’s role at CSUN 2025 exemplifies the company’s ongoing efforts to enhance accessibility for home appliance users and to realize its Better Life for All ESG vision. “Accessibility is at the heart of our innovation, driving us to push boundaries and exceed expectations,” he says. “It is particularly meaningful to showcase various products launching in North America as we continue our efforts to contribute to a Better Life for All with some of the easiest-to-use and most convenient products on the planet.”

LG was excited to participate in CSUN AT for the first time and present its newest accessibility-focused solutions debuting in North America. The event was a great opportunity to highlight the company’s ongoing commitment to improving lives for everyone by offering products that enhance convenience and ease of use.

With its first appearance at CSUN AT 2025, LG reaffirmed its commitment to universal design and accessibility. By introducing thoughtfully designed solutions that enhance convenience for disabled and senior users, LG continues to push for a more inclusive future.

Company Offers Extensive Range of High-efficiency Heating Solutions for
      Diverse Residential and Commercial Needs

SEOUL, March 17, 2025 — LG Electronics (LG) is presenting its latest heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) solutions tailored for the European market at the International Trade Fair for Sanitation, Heating and Air (ISH) 2025, taking place in Frankfurt, Germany, from March 17-21. LG’s showcase features high-efficiency solutions optimized for both commercial and residential spaces, including the large-capacity Monobloc G Air-to-Water Heat Pump (AWHP). The comprehensive exhibit underscores the company’s commitment to electrification and decarbonization, as well as its focus on providing first-class performance, flexibility and ease-of-installation.
Enhanced Energy Efficiency and Advanced Heating with the New Therma V R290
Located at the entrance of LG’s exhibition booth, the Hero zone introduces visitors to the new Therma V R290 Monobloc. This impressive residential solution boasts excellent energy efficiency and a premium European design. Winner of a 2024 International Design Excellence Award and rated “Good” by the German consumer organization Stiftung Warentest, the new Therma V utilizes R290 refrigerant, which has a low Global Warming Potential of 3. Designed to reduce energy usage and environmental impact, LG’s solution harnesses heat from the air to reduce carbon emissions and achieve an A+++ energy rating.1
Made to withstand Europe’s tough winter conditions, the new Therma V AWHP leverages LG’s proprietary scroll compressor to deliver exceptional energy efficiency and a strong, reliable performance. The positioning of the compressor at a lower-than-usual height within the unit itself contributes to the Therma V’s ability to function at 100 percent capacity, even at temperatures as low as minus 15 degrees Celsius. It also leads to improved energy savings and operational stability. With a noise level of just 50 A-weighted decibels in Low Noise Mode, the Therma V produces minimal vibrations, helping to create a relaxing and peaceful environment both inside and outside the home.2
In the multi-residential and large-scale housing zone, LG is presenting the Monobloc G large capacity AWHP and the Cascade Control Unit. The energy-efficient Cascade system offers flexible scalability, allowing the addition of up to eight units to cope with increased heating demand. The Cascade provides multiple benefits for multi-family dwellings, including low-noise operation, a space-saving design and continuous operation via backup systems.
Efficient Heating and Cooling Solutions for Modern Homes and Multi-Residential Buildings
LG’s ISH exhibition includes a variety of residential heating solutions that have been purpose-built for European kitchens, laundry rooms and living areas. The company’s latest Heat Pump Water Heaters (HPWH) with R290 refrigerant, which use electricity as well as energy from the air to heat water, offer higher efficiency than conventional electric or gas water heaters. Smart Grid ready, HPWHs can enhance energy efficiency by adjusting operation in response to electricity demand signals. Furthermore, to maximize suitability for a wider range of installation environments, LG’s water heaters are available in both floor-standing and wall-mounted types.
The new DUALCOOL AI Air with AI DUAL Inverter provides optimized air conditioning by detecting the ambient temperature of a space and intelligently adjusting the set temperature and airflow direction and speed. The company offers three different DUALCOOL AI AIR indoor units with R290 refrigerant to suit any home, with each variant offering easy installation and maximum space efficiency.
Advanced Commercial HVAC Solutions for Effective Energy Management
Additionally, LG is introducing a range of cutting-edge commercial heating solutions at ISH. A standout among these is the LG Inverter Scroll Chiller – an energy-efficient system for heating (and cooling) commercial facilities. Equipped with twin inverter scroll compressors and plate-type heat exchangers, the LG Inverter Scroll Chiller offers a wide operating frequency range and excellent heat transfer efficiency. When integrated with LG’s Building Energy Control (BECON) CPM system, the chiller provides seamless control of all connected fan coil units and air conditioning systems. BECON CPM monitors and adjusts various control elements to maintain peak efficiency and allows users to track system status in real time. It even sends users helpful alerts if an issue arises, so that appropriate action can be taken to quickly remedy the situation. Set to launch in Europe, BECON CPM also employs LG’s advanced AI-based technology to prevent energy waste and to simplify control for system managers.
One of the many highlights of LG’s booth is the R32 Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF)-based integrated solution package. The LG Multi V i, an all-electric VRF solution, intelligently manages performance according to environmental changes and helps prevent unnecessary energy consumption. When connected to the Hydro Kit, the Multi V i supports floor heating and hot water supply while its compatibility with Air Handling Unit applications from various companies enables it to serve large warehouses and other specialized business-to-business environments. Along with exceptional scalability, the company’s all-electric system offers efficient management with convenient Smart Control features. Powered by LG’s advanced AI Engine, these features analyze the operational data of the Multi V i to improve indoor comfort and create significant energy savings.
Also at ISH 2025, LG is introducing the LG All Stars program: a rewards program for HVAC installers that offers exclusive benefits, educational opportunities, continuous support and the chance to be a part of a growing professional network. Accessible via the LG All Stars app, the All Stars program lets users take advantage of the BECON Cloud maintenance service, which ensures fast and accurate issue diagnosis and allows the remote monitoring of connected heating systems from any location.
“The groundbreaking LG residential and commercial HVAC solutions on show at ISH 2025 demonstrate our commitment to delivering energy-efficient, high-performance heating systems for the European market,” said James Lee, president of the LG ES Company. “As a key player in the global shift towards electrification, and a trusted provider of advanced HVAC solutions, LG will continue to pursue innovation that maximizes customer value while minimizing environmental impact.”
Visitors to ISH 2025 can experience the latest LG HVAC solutions at the company’s exhibition booth (E69, 12.1 Hall, Messe Frankfurt).

I’ve just got home after being away 2 years, and got the tv out of storage. When we try and watch the news live in the. Morning every few minutes the video and sound stop and then after a few seconds the circle appears and starts spinning. Then the program starts again and it’s fine for a little while, and then it stops again.
I have checked for updates of the TV OS and iView (2021 is the latest)
If I use iView on my iOS device and then airplay it to the tv it works fine with no problems. If I watch any program on iview that would have been prerecorded, even if I’m watching it “live” it’s fine.
I see a few people were having a problem with all iView programs back in 2022, but they resolved.

      can anybody suggest any solutions?

      Thanks
      Charlie

Hi all, last week I got my new LG 65" C4 Oled delivered.
I investigated using first a 32Gb memory stick for recording live programmes and pause live TV facility.
I was able to record programmes but the Live TV would not work 🥲
The LG usb is the slower 2.0 spec but I read that most low current SSD drives should still work fine with 2.0
Today I received a 240Gb drive with Sata to usb 3.0 cable (3.0 is backwards compatible with 2.0).
I can confirm that everyting works fine and for just £17.40 I now have pause live TV and loads of space for recording programmes.
I used AliExpress and they if you buy using the "choice" option you get free 7day delivery to UK with detailed tracking 👍

      Hello
Question about new LG WebOS tv's, anyone noticed when pausing live TV ( live playback) on Webos 5.3 ( GX ) that recording is reset when changing channels.
Meaning if you have paused tv and then changed the channel the playback recording is lost / reset to 0 minutes.
I've have two LG tv's before the GX that didn't do this current this have one.
