Thanks to several breakthrough innovations of recent decades, several home appliances can work in unison via NFC Tag, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi to form the integrated home solutions that put the ‘smart’ in smart home. With technology advancing so rapidly, the role of the smart home has evolved from simply providing basic functions to now offering subscription services and integrated care services that elevate people’s wellbeing.

Since debuting in 2017, LG’s ThinQ™ smart home solution has been helping people live more accessible, more comfortable everyday lives in multiple ways. With the advanced ThinQ platform controlling the home, consumers can set a routine that automates multiple appliances at once while being able to monitor them in real time remotely. The comprehensive home assistant even comes with ThinQ Care, which identifies potential issues, and the ability to purchase supplies or replacements on the ThinQ store with ease.1

Let’s explore how LG ThinQ is bringing next-level convenience and smarter control to thousands, if not millions, of homes across the world.

Preparing meals has never been simpler

When arriving home exhausted, cooking may be the last thing on your mind. With ThinQ Recipe guiding you every step of the way, creating tasty, healthy dishes is less of a chore and more of a hobby. To kick the cooking process off, ThinQ uses your preferences and dietary needs to recommend both trendy online recipes and LG Original Series recipes – prepared and tested by LG food scientists and chefs to unlock LG oven’s full potential. But before cooking your selected recipe can start, do you have all the required ingredients? In collaboration with Amazon Fresh, Walmart, Walmart, Kroger, Target and Instacart, you can now make sure you’re never missing an item by ordering supplies from your favorite grocery store via the app.2 So, once you’re ready to cook, open up a video guide and follow the instructions. Then put your creation in the LG InstaViewTM Oven, which is ready to go thanks to LG ThinQ having already sent over the temperature and cooking time that will cook it to perfection. The only thing left to do after the food has been cooked and served is to make sure the room temperature is perfect for you by controlling the LG DUALCOOL air conditioner via the app. Now you can enjoy your perfectly home-cooked meal to the fullest.

Providing the smart home solutions everyone can use

To make sure everyone can experience a convenient, connected smart home, LG ThinQ has incorporated useful voice guides to provide better accessibility. Through voice recognition technology, elderly people or those unfamiliar with smartphone can directly speak to your Alexa, Google Assistant devices or directly to LG ThinQ app to give instant verbal feedback on device-related problems.

And since these appliances become more compatible with Google Assistant now in almost a hundred countries and Amazon Alexa in sixty-four, more people can get accurate information on their appliances in a matter of seconds.3

Joining Matter for a more integrated platform

What’s more, LG recently joined the Board of Directors of the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA), the leading global organization for developing, evolving and promoting universal open standards for the Internet of Things (IoT). LG will lead the way in developing smart home ecosystems by actively participating in the development and standardization of Matter, the Alliance’s open-source IoT protocol for connecting smart home devices.

The venue featured a home-like showcase area with themed spaces, including living rooms, kitchens and laundry rooms, demonstrating how renting a full suite of LG appliances can significantly reduce expenses while upgrading daily living experiences.

Enhancing the service’s accessibility, LG Taiwan also announced strategic partnerships with key industry leaders, such as Sinyi Realty’s Ecosystem Lead and Taishin Bank. Industry experts and retail leaders gathered to discuss the program’s market impact, including representatives from 486 Shop and SENAO International, alongside financial news anchor Liu Hanchu. The discussion highlighted how this innovative rental model represents a significant shift in consumer access to premium home appliances, offering both financial flexibility and lifestyle enhancement opportunities.

I can't find the Spotify app on the LG Content Store. When I search it, there is no result. Anyone can help me to get Spotify on LG Smart TV? I tried to use DRmare Software to download Spotify songs to USB flash drive and play them on my LG Smart TV offline for free. But I prefer to use it via the Spotify app directly.

The heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) industry is undergoing a significant transformation, shifting towards AI-driven solutions, clean technology and highly-efficient systems tailored to diverse regional needs. Embracing this shift, LG is leveraging its outstanding core technologies, AI and intimate knowledge of different industries to deliver HVAC solutions for a smarter, more efficient future.
LG’s dynamic HVAC business continues to expand its market presence and capabilities, investing heavily in R&D to develop innovative technologies for a new generation of eco-responsible temperature control and air quality systems. Over the past three years, it has achieved double-digit annual sales growth, making it one of LG’s fastest-growing concerns and an important driver of the company’s substantial and ongoing success in the B2B sector.

LG offers a comprehensive lineup of HVAC solutions optimized for a wide range of spaces, including residential, public, commercial and industrial. Its portfolio features large-capacity chillers – which are rapidly becoming the preferred choice for AI data centers where advanced and reliable heat management is essential – as well as an array of commercial and residential air conditioning systems. Utilizing cutting-edge technologies such as high-efficiency heat pumps, LG’s HVAC products provide outstanding cooling and heating performance and are widely acknowledged as effective electrification solutions suitable for replacing traditional fossil-fuel-driven systems.

In recognition of its efforts to lessen the environmental impacts of its HVAC solutions, LG has been named the “Most Sustainable Brand” in the HVAC category by Green Builder Media, a respected North American media outlet focusing on eco-friendly construction. In the U.S. and other countries, the company has created “locally self-sufficient operation systems” that encompass all key HVAC business functions – from R&D to maintenance and repair – and are tailored to local needs.

LG is also strongly committed to delivering dependable, energy-efficient heat pump solutions for regions affected by unrelentingly low temperatures. To this end, the company has established a global consortium focused on R&D for cold-climate heat pumps with bases currently operating in Alaska (U.S.), Oslo (Norway) and Harbin (China) – all places that endure frigid winter conditions.

Last September, LG hosted the first-ever meeting of the Global Heat Pump Consortium in Seoul, South Korea, where LG’s HVAC experts and academic partners gathered to discuss the collaborative projects being undertaken by each of the consortium’s regional clusters. In addition to the consortium’s R&D labs, LG operates five Air Solution Research Centers (with locations in South Korea, North America, Europe and India) and runs a total of 62 HVAC academics across 43 countries. These academies, which train over 30,000 engineers annually, are helping to support the global adoption of the company’s advanced HVAC technologies.

LG’s competitive edge in HVAC is driven by its unmatched “Core-Tech” capabilities. By developing essential components like compressors and motors in-house, LG strives to ensure that all of its products deliver the first-class reliability and efficiency that its customers have come to expect. Its oil-free centrifugal chillers incorporate LG-designed magnetic bearings, impellers, compressors and heat exchangers. These chillers also leverage LG’s highly evolved AI Engine to enable predictive control and to ensure outstanding stability and performance. LG’s AI Engine even provides intelligent surge prevention, a feature that is critical for data centers, where any interruption in operation can potentially mean inconvenience for millions.

With a solid foundation of R&D, a proven track record of innovation and a commitment to sustainability-focused design and management, LG continues to reinforce its reputation as the global leader in HVAC. From pioneering a new generation of data center cooling solutions to advancing high-efficiency heat pump technologies for harsh climates, the company is doing all that it can to help usher in a smarter, more efficient future.
