SEOUL, Nov. 15, 2022 — LG Electronics (LG) is unveiling its first 27-inch, 4K surgical monitor with Mini LED technology (model 27HQ710S) at MEDICA 2022, the international tradeshow for the medical sector taking place in Düsseldorf, Germany, from November 14-17.

LG 4K Mini LED surgical monitor boasts exceptional picture quality courtesy of the company’s Mini LED technology, which provides clear, precise images. The product’s 27-inch, 4K resolution (3,840 x 2,160) screen leverages thousands of tiny LED diodes to provide a peak brightness of 2,000cd/m² and a 1,000:1 contrast ratio. With an impressive 1,500 local dimming zones, the surgical monitor displays vibrant, high quality color images with consistent brightness across the entire screen.

In addition to contributing to excellent image reproduction, LG’s new surgical monitor’s bright, high quality display is suitable for use in hospital operating rooms and surgical centers. The surgical monitor also covers 20 percent more of the sRGB color gamut than its predecessor (model 27HJ710S). The combination of these attributes, along with a compact and easy to clean design, makes LG’s surgical monitor a valuable addition to the surgical suite.

Furthermore, the design of the new surgical monitor delivers the durability and reliability optimized for the surgical environment. Thanks to the use of Optical Bonding Glass, the 27HQ710S reduces distracting reflections from theater lighting, while the product protects its front and rear (IP45- and IP32-rated, respectively) against foreign material and splashes.

“The market for medical monitors that can deliver bright, high quality color images in true 4K resolution is growing in size, and this is reflected in the products being showcased at this year’s MEDICA,” said Silas Choi, vice president and head of the B2B solution business division at LG Business Solutions Company. “The 27HQ710S is the result of LG’s efforts to bring its superior LED technology to the medical sector. We believe that this new model will be a valuable addition to the surgical suite.”

Visitors to LG’s exhibition booth (Hall 10, Stand D40) at MEDICA 2022 can explore the full range of LG medical displays, including the new 4K Mini LED surgical monitor.

Designed for Elevated Home Living, Company’s Premium Residential Air Conditioner
Effortlessly Blends Advanced AI Technology With Artful Aesthetics

SEOUL, Mar. 6, 2025 — LG Electronics (LG) is unveiling the ARTCOOL AI Air, an advanced cooling and heating solution designed to deliver optimal indoor comfort, sophisticated style and convenient usability. Adopting LG’s advanced AI Core-Tech, this impressive residential air conditioner learns from users’ preferences to provide personalized climate control and improved energy efficiency.
The ARTCOOL AI Air leverages AI-powered climate optimization to create a more comfortable living environment. Its AI Air mode intelligently adjusts airflow strength and direction in real-time, taking into account the room’s layout and occupants’ positions. Compatible with the ThinQ app, users can remotely monitor and customize airflow settings to suit their preferences. In addition, the Sleep Timer+ function enhances comfort by regulating temperature and airflow based on individual usage patterns, creating the ideal conditions for a restful night’s sleep.
Boasting a sleek, modern-minimalist design, LG’s latest ARTCOOL fits seamlessly with a wide range of contemporary interior styles. The new model’s black mirror glass finish and the series of horizontal bars composing the grille at its lower edge add a touch of luxurious refinement to any room. The grille not only provides a subtle yet striking visual contrast to the reflective black surface above it but also plays a crucial role in enhancing airflow distribution. When airflow is directed solely through the ARTCOOL’s front outlet, the distinctive multi-line grille structure helps create a “wind spread” of over 180 degrees, delivering a softer and more pleasant breeze.
Moreover, the company’s new air conditioner proactively helps users save energy with its AI kW Manager and Window Open Detection features. Accessible via the ThinQ app, the AI kW Manager provides real-time power usage data and allows users to set customized energy-usage limits, offering a convenient way to monitor and control the electricity consumption of the ARTCOOL AI Air. The Window Open Detection and the Human Detecting Sensor contribute further to the prevention of energy waste. The Window Open Detection feature switches the air conditioner to energy-saving mode when it detects a sudden change in temperature, while the Human Detecting Sensor activates energy-saving mode when it senses the room has been unoccupied for a period of time.
“The ARTCOOL AI Air combines sophisticated design with LG’s cutting-edge AI and air conditioning technologies to provide personalized comfort, premium style and intelligently energy savings,” said James Lee, president of the LG ES Company.

Strengthening its Position in the Automotive Semiconductor Market

SEOUL, Feb. 5, 2025 — LG Electronics (LG) has developed a high-performance automotive Micro Controller Unit (MCU) that has garnered global recognition for its functionality, safety and reliability. Building on its previous success in creating exclusive chips for AI home appliances and smart TVs, LG is now accelerating its AI semiconductor design and development in the mobility sector.
Recently, LG obtained ISO 26262 certification from TÜV Rheinland, a renowned German testing and certification organization, for its automotive MCU. This certification, established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), is an international standard for functional safety in automotive applications. It rigorously verifies the safety and reliability of electrical and electronic systems in vehicles to prevent accidents caused by system failures. LG had previously received ISO 26262 certification for its automotive semiconductor development process, and the high-performance MCU developed under this process has also been recognized for its excellence in functional safety.
This MCU, LG’s first self-developed automotive semiconductor, is designed for infotainment applications, such as monitoring Audio, Video and Navigation (AVN) systems and providing stable control of in-vehicle communications. LG possesses foundational technologies in all areas of automotive semiconductor design, implementation and verification, and through the acquisition of this certification, the company has secured high reliability in functional safety.

Have you ever wondered how many LG OLED TVs are shipped every year? 100 thousand units perhaps, maybe as much as a million? In the first half of 2023, LG recorded over 1.33 million shipments of its stunning OLED TVs, setting new benchmarks and records its competitors can only dream of.
      According to market research firm
link hidden, please login to view, LG captured over 55 percent of the global OLED TV market in the first six months based on total shipments. As a renowned OLED TV leader now celebrating 10 years of innovation in this space, LG has once again defended its premium TV crown while further cementing LG OLED TV’s status as the pinnacle of premium TVs.
The “bigger the better” trend continues to prevail in the TV market, which is great news for LG. As more and more people desire larger TVs for their living spaces, models of 75 inches or larger accounted for a remarkable 11.4 percent share of total OLED TVs sold, while shipments’ yearly average growth rate topped 90 percent over the past five years. Staying on top of this growing trend, LG is resuming its dominance in the market with an outstanding 64.2 percent share in total shipments of OLED TVs over 75 inches.
LG is targeting this new demand for large and premium TVs in the second half of 2023 with the groundbreaking TV (model 97M3) it unveiled in July, which boasts the world’s first 4K 120Hz wireless solution that makes it easy for customers to achieve their dream interior.

Not one to be confined, LG unleashed a tidal wave of 10 million TV units (OLED and LCD) on the world, which has helped the company carve out a 16.2 percent share of revenue for itself in the global TV market.
Despite facing a downturn in the global TV market, LG persisted in strengthening its inventory management and securing higher profits while actively pursuing a strategic approach for its premium and ultra-large displays. And this commitment has paid off substantially, with its LG OLED TVs now accounting for around 30 percent of the company’s overall revenue generated from TV sets.

TV shipments totaled over 92 million units in the first half of 2023, matching last year’s first half performance. The OLED TV segment, which has been led by LG for a number of years, has already passed the 2 million shipments mark this year, which bodes well for the rest of 2023.
OLED TVs are continuing their takeover of the global TV market after capturing 9.3 percent of all revenue in the first half. Meanwhile, Omdia predicts that OLED TVs are set to shine even brighter, projecting at least a 43 percent revenue share among premium TVs priced above USD 1,500.
