Hyper personalization is the new must. In this era, consumers are much more evolved in terms of their engagement with brands and are seeking products that can adapt to their individual needs and offer user experiences that suit their unique preferences and lifestyles. With LG Object Collection, which presents a range of chic, customizable living solutions that can elevate any home décor, and LG ThinQ UP Appliances, which allow users to select and add convenient, new features and functions, LG is at the forefront of the personalized appliance trend.

When creating personalized products or services, it is crucial to first discover customers’ unvoiced needs – and this is where data collection and analysis are so important for a lifestyle innovator like LG. To enhance its capabilities and efficiency in this area, the company established Experience Informatics (EI) Task, a dedicated unit that uses large-scale quantitative analysis to thoroughly assess a diverse range of customer experience data. EI Task is enabling LG to better predict future purchasing intentions and gain greater insight into the lifestyles and needs of its customers.

Recently, EI Task received a significant boost to its operations with the introduction of the Lifegraphy system which provides customer insights through customer-centric data structures and interpretation algorithms developed based on years of customer research experiences. Lifegraphy enables its users to comprehend customer experiences from multiple angles and flexibly explore customer needs by converting abstract concepts, including customer values and lifestyle, into numerical data.

Before the invention of Lifegraphy, the task of understanding customers and uncovering what they really want was handled by LG personnel proficient in data analysis and statistics. Unfortunately, the considerable time and effort required to complete their research made it difficult to keep up with fast-changing industry trends and customer tastes. Moreover, challenges in sharing and interpreting data collected by different divisions and projects brought further inefficiency to the overall process.

But now, thanks to the advent of the Lifegraphy system, any business unit or group within LG can accurately analyze customer data without requiring an expert team of analysts or statisticians to do so. As such, they can establish the initial design and marketing direction for new products much faster than before, meaning a shorter development period and more precise targeting of specific consumer segments. Another advantage of Lifegraphy is that, because it lessens the impact of personal opinions, the results it provides are more objective and, therefore, more reliable.

Lee Kun-woo, lead of LG EI Task

“The Lifegraphy system was designed based on a belief that, if data collected from extensive research become a tool and was used continuously by many people, it would contribute to developing products and services that offer better customer experiences,” said Lee Kun-woo, lead of EI Task.

Many experts involved in creating this efficient system faced numerous challenges and obstacles along the way. The biggest problem to solve was how to visually express the digitized, abstract concepts the system delivers in a way that any employee could easily understand.

Noh Eun-young, a specialist at LG EI Task

“There were people who insisted on providing the collected data as-is, but we spent much time and effort to persuade and explain to them the importance of presenting data in a way that actually helps LG employees understand target customers,” said Noh Eun-young, a specialist at LG EI Task. “No matter how much data we have, it is meaningless if we cannot interpret it accurately, and that’s exactly what Lifegraphy helps us do.”

LG’s newly introduced MoodUP™ refrigerator is an example of a successful product conceived with assistance from the Lifegraphy system and perfected by the talented designers at LG. The refrigerator boasts LED doors that can change color to match users’ moods or preferred decorating palettes – without the cost and hassle of having to physically replace the actual panels. Through the LG ThinQ™ app, users can choose from 22 colors for the upper door panel and 19 colors for the lower, and instantly apply their new selection whenever the mood takes them.

Thanks to the convenient, effective Lifegraphy system and the endeavors of those who designed and use it, LG is bringing exciting, new innovations to the home appliance space and taking the personalized customer experience to a whole new level.

SEOUL, Jan. 6, 2025 — LG Electronics (LG) unveiled its new audio product line of Bluetooth speakers and earbuds at CES 2025, created in partnership with multi-platinum musician and tech entrepreneur, will.i.am. This marks the debut of the “xboom by will.i.am” line, following the partnership announcement in early December.
LG recently appointed will.i.am as the “Experiential Architect” of the LG xboom brand, aiming to establish it as a culture-forward brand that elevates the listening experience to new heights through completely new sound and design values. All “xboom by will.i.am” audio products are professionally tuned by will.i.am, delivering the xboom signature sound – characterized by a more balanced audio profile with warmer tones. The product design is playfully compact and embodies will.i.am’s creative artistry that stems from his life-long experience in pop culture. Leveraging both his extensive experience in understanding what people love and developing technology for creatives, will.i.am fundamentally inspires xboom’s product development, design and brand marketing.
The “xboom by will.i.am” line boasts a family of smart Bluetooth speakers – the xboom Bounce, Grab and Stage 301 – all fortified with seamless AI capabilities for a next-level listening experience. The xboom speakers conduct AI analysis on the content being played to automatically adjust AI Sound, switching to sound options that accentuate the melody, rhythm, or voice. The AI Lighting feature keeps the speakers’ bar lights pulsing in multicolored sync for added ambiance. AI Calibration allows speakers to instantly recognize their surroundings to fill various indoor or outdoor spaces with ample sound. And for the first time, xboom speakers now feature a dedicated button for users to instantly connect to will.i.am’s RAiDiO.FYI platform to enjoy various infotainment content tailored for each listener by an AI Radio Host.
Also, users can enjoy their content with amplified sound through the LE Audio Auracast feature that connects multiple xboom units for a seamlessly synchronized audio output. Even without Auracast support on their smartphones, users can enjoy synchronized audio across multiple units with the xboom speaker serving as the master unit. Moreover, users can enjoy the xboom signature sound that is further enhanced by built-in tweeters and full-range units created by Peerless, the Danish premium transducer manufacturer with a legacy of almost 100 years.
The 2025 audio product line is spearheaded by the xboom Bounce, which combines refined audio quality with stylish aesthetics. It boosts portable sound to a new level with its built-in, up-bouncing passive radiators, dual dome tweeters and track-type woofer. The Bounce is capable of delivering high-frequency stereo with precise highs and an expanded soundstage, surrounding listeners with enhanced clarity and depth. The name “Bounce” comes from its up-bouncing passive radiators that visibly bounce and light up in beat to the music. It incorporates a versatile strap that enables users to hold the speaker securely in one hand, hang it on a hook, or place it on a tabletop. With a water and dust resistance IP67 rating and Military Standard 810G durability, this robust speaker’s built-in battery lasts up to 30 hours.
The xboom Grab presents an exciting take-anywhere audio experience, pairing powerful sound with a compact, travel-friendly design. Despite its relatively slim size, the Grab manages to pack dual passive radiators positioned on both sides of the speaker for dynamic bass and lively sound. As the name “Grab” suggests, this speaker is perfect to hold in one hand for use on the go. It can be placed in many orientations – standing upright, lying on its side, or securely nestled in the cup holder of a car or camping chair, or even in the water bottle cage of a bicycle. It also comes with versatile straps for securing snugly to the arm or slinging over hooks and handles. With a water and dust resistance IP67 rating and Military Standard 810G durability, the Grab offers up to 20 hours of battery life.
The xboom Stage 301 is designed for those who love transforming any space into a lively stage – hence the name “Stage.” Optimized for busking, karaoke night, or any sort of indoors or outdoors gathering, the speaker effortlessly fills big spaces with powerful sound. This robust model packs a punch with its 6.5-inch woofer and dual 2.5-inch midrange drivers, providing rich, full-bodied audio. The Stage 301 distinctly features a built-in handle for easy carrying and a clever wedge design that allows flexible positioning for various setups – flat on its base, tilted back, or seated atop a tripod. Highly durable, the xboom Stage 301 has an IPX4 water resistance rating as well as a replaceable battery that lasts up to 11 hours, allowing greater flexibility and uninterrupted listening pleasure.
The xboom Buds employ lightweight graphene drivers, which are key to delivering pure, well-balanced sound with rich bass. As thin as paper yet strong as steel, graphene improves durability while supporting LG’s Active Noise Canceling technology, providing a more immersive listening experience. Featuring LE Audio Auracast, the Buds enable users to listen to open audio streams in public and permit multiple device connections so that several users can simultaneously enjoy the same audio. Designed for comfort and stability, the ergonomic ear tips adapt to various ear shapes, while the unique ear hook design provides a snug and stable fit on the go. It offers up to 30 hours of listening time with the support of its charging case, as well as IPX4 water resistance that protects against splashing water.
“Working with renowned tech and lifestyle innovator, LG, opens the door to groundbreaking and dynamic experiences that speak to a broader community of music enthusiasts,” said will.i.am. “By bringing our cutting-edge technology and distinctive creative visions together with LG xboom, we want to foster an iconic culture where people can explore their passion for music with others on a whole new level.”
“The xboom by will.i.am line marks the beginning of a dynamic, collaborative journey for the xboom brand and will.i.am, and we are more than thrilled to showcase the first fruits of our partnership at this year’s CES,” said Lee Jeong-seok, head of the LG Media Entertainment Solution Company’s audio business division. “Beginning with the new xboom line, we will continuously aim to elevate every aspect of the listening experience.”
The all-new “xboom by will.i.am” audio products, which will roll out in global markets in 2025, will be on display during CES 2025 from January 7–10 at the LG booth (#15004, Las Vegas Convention Center).

Simplifying Complex Driving With Intuitive Navigation Guidance

SEOUL, Nov. 6, 2024 — LG Electronics (LG) has been awarded the prestigious “King Sejong Award” at the 2024 Technology Patent Awards for its pioneering augmented reality (AR) technology designed for vehicles. This annual event, organized by the Korean Intellectual Property Office, recognizes patents registered within the past decade that contribute to enhancing South Korea’s industrial competitiveness.
The patent for LG’s advanced vehicle AR technology was submitted both domestically and internationally in 2022. This innovative system aims to improve the future mobility experience by leveraging AR to visualize various driving scenarios. It generates 3D graphics that provide vehicle information and navigation guidance on in-vehicle displays.
Driving can often be confusing, especially on complex roads or unfamiliar routes, where estimating distances or directions becomes challenging. LG’s in-vehicle AR technology alleviates this confusion by providing clear guidance lines that drivers can easily follow. The system employs sophisticated algorithms to integrate data from various vehicle sensors, including smart cameras, navigation systems and driver assistance sensors, along with external data sources. By harnessing information from GPS, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and vehicle-to-everything (V2X) technologies, the system can predict potential hazards and accident risks based on the vehicle’s location and surrounding environment, thereby enhancing safety during journeys.
A key feature of LG’s patented technology is its ability to display dynamic AR images. This capability makes route guidance more intuitive by adjusting the symbols representing the vehicle and directional guidance – such as combining a spade and chevron into an arrow shape or separating them – based on real-time driving conditions. The AR graphics can seamlessly separate, transform and merge, allowing the system to visually convey complex driving information, such as speed, incline, lane changes and route recalculations, in a manner that can be easily understood by the driver.
LG plans to leverage this advanced vehicle AR technology to develop future mobility solutions for global automakers and accelerate the development of new mobility software. The company also aims to generate royalty-based revenue from the patent.
“LG is excited to utilize its award-winning AR technology to create mobility solutions that elevate driver convenience and contribute to safer roads for everyone,” said Kim Dong-wook, head of the B2B Advanced Technology Center at LG Electronics. “Moving forward, we will continue to refine our AR technology to ensure compatibility across all vehicle platforms. We anticipate that this exciting innovation will significantly contribute to the growth of our software business.”

    • Get More For Your Device

On LG OLEDs. You go on and disable SIMPLINK. Fine. But everytime you turn on your HDMI device it enables itself back again. This happens because they have disables two key features that were present in previous OSs, as you can see clearly here
link hidden, please login to view (they even put screencaps of the menus where you see the missing options in the 23) These functions are Auto Power Sync and Auto Device Detection.
Man updates are supposed to add functionalities not the other way around. It's very annoying to turn on your TV and have your AVR turn on without you wanting to.

Anyone found a solution for this problem?
