Periodical gaps of silence while watching HbbTV (Hybrid TV)

Question

Posted

Hello,

my TV (UP80003LR) (with latest WebOS: 6.3.2-423 )works fine expect for one problem with HbbTV (Hybrid TV).

While watching HbbTV there are periodical gaps of silence of durations ~0.5 sec. every ~10 sec, so It`s very difficult to watch TV.

Earlier gaps occured once a minute so it was kinda bearable.

Internet is connected though LAN cable.

Have tried tune sound options, but it didn`t helped, so have and reseted TV settings to initial, but it didn`t helped too.

So now i am kinda desperate.

What can be sure of is that problem is local with TV, because there are no problems with TV picture and there are no problem on second TV (Samsung).

Thank for any ieads.

I’ve just got home after being away 2 years, and got the tv out of storage. When we try and watch the news live in the. Morning every few minutes the video and sound stop and then after a few seconds the circle appears and starts spinning. Then the program starts again and it’s fine for a little while, and then it stops again.
I have checked for updates of the TV OS and iView (2021 is the latest)
If I use iView on my iOS device and then airplay it to the tv it works fine with no problems. If I watch any program on iview that would have been prerecorded, even if I’m watching it “live” it’s fine.
I see a few people were having a problem with all iView programs back in 2022, but they resolved.

      can anybody suggest any solutions?

      Thanks
      Charlie

I used to have a JBL soundbar, connected via ARC. Now I switched to Denon soundbar again with ARC connection. But my tv doesn't turn off now, although all other functions are working fine on the remote. Any idea?

      Good afternoon everybody !
I live in Italy and I own an LG 49UF851V that I haven't used for years.
Being a non-Italian model with hbbtv support (which in Italy was not yet enabled in 2016), years ago, I had changed the code area to 3124 to enable the MHP protocol.
Now, in 2023, after having set the code area to 3122 (I don't remember the original one, I think it was Polish) and having correctly updated it (firmware 04.06.25.01) I am trying in every way to enable hbbTV for Italy without success , despite the technical specifications indicating that it is compatible.
By selecting "no country" in the localization menu, the hbbTV option appears regularly activated in the channel settings and, for example, when I tune to Mediaset channels, the hbbTV icon appears in the info banner but in reality it does not start.
Beyond this, obviously, the channel list is not according to Italian law and there are no Italian APPs in the Content store.
Searching the web I notice that the uf851v is practically identical to the uf850v and the uf852v except that it seems to be intended for a non-Italian but still European market.
Is there any way to solve it?
I thank you in advance and wish everyone happy holidays

I bought a new LG 43uq7590pub (43" 4K UHD) TV three months ago, with the intent of using it as a computer monitor.
      Configuration is as follows:
Running it in Gaming Mode Computer is set for 4K resolution (3840 x 2160) Connected via HDMI cable to my computer (don't have the cable stats in front of me) Computer's video card is set to a 60Hz refresh rate When watching streaming videos from the local computer (YouTube, MAX, Netflix, etc), the TV will randomly go black and restart. There is no warning (audio/video slowdowns or distortions/glitches) before it does so. After restarting, it continues to run normally. Anything over 30-45min and it will likely restart.
I'm not using wifi/internet locally on the TV, so that is not (or shouldn't be) the issue.
I'm wondering if running the computer's video AND audio over the HDMI cable is too much for the TV, and that's causing the restarts after a while. I have a separate MIDI/audio interface that I usually run the computer's audio OUT of, to a pair of external speakers. This is a whole new computer setup, so I don't have that in place yet; just wondering if taking that workload OFF of the TV/HDMI might help.
Are there any event logs within the TV OS that might indicate what is happening?
      Anyone else experience anything similar?
