Would love to auto start the Alexa app so my smart home can connect to it automatically when I turn it on from a plug since you can't turn on the tv with the hubs.

One small workaround instead of trying to figure out how to turn on the tv from a hub since it disconnects from the wifi when it powers off.

  1. Startup Folder:

    • Place a shortcut to the application in the Startup folder. You can access this folder by pressing Win + R, typing shell:startup, and pressing Enter. Drag the shortcut of the desired app into this folder.
  2. Task Scheduler:

    • Open Task Scheduler (Win + R, type taskschd.msc, Enter).
    • Create a new task, give it a name.
    • Under the Triggers tab, select "At startup" from the drop-down menu.
    • Under the Actions tab, choose "Start a program" and select the application's executable file.
    • Save the task.

macOS:

  1. Login Items:

    • Go to System Preferences > Users & Groups.
    • Select your username and navigate to the "Login Items" tab.
    • Click the "+" button and add the desired application.
    • link hidden, please login to view
  2. Automator:

    • Open Automator and create a new Application.
    • Add the "Run Shell Script" action.
    • Enter open -a "Application Name" in the script box.
    • Save the Automator application and add it to Login Items.

Linux (Ubuntu):

  1. Startup Applications:

    • Open "Startup Applications" from the application menu.
    • Click "Add" and enter the name and command to run the application.
  2. .bashrc:

    • Edit your ~/.bashrc file and add a line to start the application. Use & at the end of the command to run it in the background.

Android:

  1. Autostart Manager (Device Dependent):

    • Some Android devices have built-in autostart managers in settings where you can select apps to start automatically upon boot.
  2. Third-Party Apps:

    • Various third-party apps on the Play Store offer autostart management features. Find one that suits your preferences.

iOS (iPhone/iPad):

iOS doesn't allow users to automatically start apps upon boot unless the device is jailbroken. Apple's restrictions prevent this kind of behavior for security and performance reasons.

Remember to consider the impact on system resources and battery life when setting up apps to start automatically, especially on mobile devices

I have a 65 Inch LG OLED evo AI C4 4K Smart TV 2024 - Model OLED65C4PUA.ACC. here have been a many weird things happening. This is one of them:
Whenever I turn on my TV, it doesn't remember the audio settings I chose before. I repeatedly need to set my audio for the input I am using. I ofter select APPLY TO ALL INPUTS to try and make sure it's the same regardless of which input I use, but it still reverts all changes.
Does anyone know what this happens?

On LG OLEDs. You go on and disable SIMPLINK. Fine. But everytime you turn on your HDMI device it enables itself back again. This happens because they have disables two key features that were present in previous OSs, as you can see clearly here
link hidden, please login to view (they even put screencaps of the menus where you see the missing options in the 23) These functions are Auto Power Sync and Auto Device Detection.
Man updates are supposed to add functionalities not the other way around. It's very annoying to turn on your TV and have your AVR turn on without you wanting to.

Anyone found a solution for this problem?

      Hi all,
I'm wondering how you can get into the service menu (In Start) on an old LG Smart TV (42LB630V) running WebOS 1.4.  I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 (SM-G920F) with a IR blaster, I have tried sending '0x04FB 0xFB04' to I which should be IR code to enter the menu, but that doesn't work.
I have also tried entering it with the SSAP-Web, but I get:
error: 500 Application error {"errorCode":-101,"returnValue":false,"errorText":"\"com.webos.app.factorywin\" was not found OR Unsupported Application Type" The SAPP-Web app does works though, because the TV does respond to Get info
{ "returnValue": true, "product_name": "webOS", "model_name": "HE_DTV_WT1M_AFAAABAA", "sw_type": "FIRMWARE", "major_ver": "05", "minor_ver": "05.90", "country": "omitted", "device_id": "omitted", "auth_flag": "N", "ignore_disable": "N", "eco_info": "01", "config_key": "00", "language_code": "en-GB" } The reason I want to access the menu is because I've enabled DEBUG mode on my TV through the NVM method and I want to enter a root shell trough UART to enable SSH and root access.
      Gaining root access through NVM:
