Opaque box for subtitles

Can you add opaque box for subtitlws when we warch from smart share, external hdd etc... so practicly in thw subtitle menu choose for opaque box and transparency. Thanks in advance :)

The LG Media Player is quite basic in its handling of subtitles
often displaying control data text such as <font color="#ffff00ff"> instead of acting on it

I deal with this by running the file through Subtitle Edit on my PC before
plugging  the hdd into the TV.  It can handle embedded and external subtitles

At the same time I can correct some typical spelling mistake like ancl instead of and
The AI programmes that generate the subtitle leave quite a bit to be desired

I used to watch like that with hdd plugged, now I use LG smart share. The LG player on my TV is not so simple. There is choices for color, size, encodings, external and internal subs, synchronization,  but opaque box is what is missing. When there are bright scenes you can't read the subs properly. I think they could add choice for transparency of the opaque box.

And also .ass tags in .srt files for positions are not handled, instead we see the tags like this {an/8} and the three dpts (...) are on top instead of bottom of the line.

Please add outline, outline size and outline color (black and white). And add black font as well.

I have a LGC2 TV. I can barely see the subtitles even though I had changed the subtitle color.

Please add this asap. Thanks!

If you are plugging a USB directly into to TV. the internal Media Player ignores all colour information
However on my Nano90 TV subtitles are displayed correctly and readably


Otherwise you may need to buy an external Android box to play the videos then
the full formatting options will be available

      Hello , There is no setting to select subtitles for series and movies, I tried clicking on the colors on the remote, but nothing worked, I poked around in settings and found nothing.       On my LG 60SJ850T, Watching Horizon from AppleTV streaming service. Western with some scenes with Apache language being spoken. No subtitles appearing. When CC is on, see “foreign language being spoken”. When viewed on iPhone, there are subtitles. Have tried same movie using chrome cast TV, and casting from iPhone to Apple TV device. Never get subtitles. Verified subtitles work when I stream to same chromecast TV connected to a different TV. 
       
      reset LG TV to factory settings after trying all available CC and subtitle settings on TV. Still no subtitles.

      Hi all,

      I'm Danny and have a problem with my LG OLED65C8;

      since a few months when playing movies, either from my Syno NAS or just plain USB, subtitles are being displayed double (over or above eachother) or are displayed for sometimes minutes after the sentence's been spoken. The videofiles haven't got any hardcoded subs but either subs included in the mkv container or as separate srt of ssa file. Disabling subs removes the display of subs, enabling subs results in double or persistent subs.

      Subtitles have been disabled in the accessability menu, factory reset did not help.

      I searched but as far as I can see this problem has not been discussed yet, also googled and never came across this problem. Perhaps someone here can help?

      SOLUTION, for me at least:

      I used ColorControl to reboot the TV. It's weird that a factory reset did not work but a simple reboot did.

      I'm watching a movie (mkv) that has 10 built-in link hidden, please login to view, but webOs only shows 8 options and the one I want to select is the ninth option. My TV is LG 55 OLED B6. Is there a way to make this selection?
